A few days a year, students at Pleasant Ridge Middle School in Overland Park know to expect something a little different when lunchtime rolls around. No, it’s not something new on the lunch menu, but rather someone new at their table.

The Olathe Chamber of Commerce will again partner with Garmin International Inc. for the Garmin Marathon on April 20. The event, now in its tenth year, includes a 5k, half marathon, full marathon and a course designed for children in kindergarten through sixth grade.In addition to new race courses, the program will feature a health and wellness event, and a pasta dinner held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Olathe on April 19. Packet pick-up for the marathon will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. April 19 at Garmin’s headquarters at 1200 E. 151st St. in Olathe. For more information: www.garminmarathon.com.
