A 60-year-old Merriam man faces charges of attempted murder stemming from a shooting Friday at the King’s Cove apartments.
Mark Alden Wrinkles was charged Saturday with attempted first-degree murder and bond was set at $100,000.
Merriam police went to the apartment complex in the 7300 block of Brittany Street about 3:25 a.m. Friday after a caller said that a 52-year-old man had been shot several times.
Police said the victim suffered non-life threatening injuries from wounds to his face and upper torso, having been shot while he slept on a couch. Police said Sunday that the victim has been released from the hospital.
Police had said that the suspect was waiting in the hallway when they arrived. He was unarmed and surrendered peacefully. Police said both the victim and the suspect told them that there was no argument prior to the shooting.
