Olathe Medical Services awarded top certification; new MARC chairman

Medical services certification

Olathe Medical Services Inc. has received the highest level of recognition awarded by the National Committee for Quality Assurance for five of its primary care clinics. Olathe Medical Services, part of Olathe Health Systems, is a network of 38 family care and specialty clinics. Olathe Medical plans to submit the remaining facilities for the review process by this spring.

Senior living director

E. Ray Gilliland has been named the memory care director at Park Meadows Senior Living in Overland Park. He will manage about 20 employees in the memory care facility, which is the newest edition to the senior living community. Park Meadows is owned and operated by Spectrum Retirement Communities, based in Denver.

New MARC chairman

Marge Vogt, a member of Olathe city council, was recently named chairman of the Mid-America Regional Council. Vogt replaces Independence councilman and mayor pro tem Jim Schultz, who completed a two-year term in the position. Vogt has served on MARC’s board since August 2006.

The regionial council serves as the association of city and county governments and is the metropolitan planning organization for the bistate Kansas City region.

Olathe chamber

Ramin Cherafat has been appointed chairman of the Olathe Chamber of Commerce. Cherafat is vice president of operations and a partner at McCownGordon Construction. He replaces Lori Tinkler, chief operating officer at Applied Measurement Professionals Inc., who has served as the chairman fo the past two years.

The chair-elect for the 32-member board is Nicolle Welsh, shared services support manager at Farmers Insurance.
