A broken water main has forced officials to close one lane of westbound College Boulevard in Overland Park while repairs are made.
The broken main was discovered about 2 a.m. today near College and Nall Avenue by an Overland Park police officer, said Mandy Cawby, a spokeswoman for Johnson County WaterOne.
Crews from Johnson County WaterOne are working to repair the 12-inch main and hope to have water restored to the area by 10 a.m., Cawby said. The main is under the easement so it is easy to get to, she said.
Shifting ground is believed to have caused the break, Cawby said.
The break is affecting about eight businesses on either sides of College Boulevard.
